It’s not everyday that you get commissioned to photograph a Tasmanian Devil’s bottom but that is exactly what happened to me last year.

The Sensory, a new retail experience in Richmond (Tasmania) needed images of Tassie Devils. One of the unique attractions of the Sensory are ‘scent domes’ where people can smell and hear the rainforest and… Tassie Devils. The thing is, most of the Tassie Devil’s scent actually comes from the anal gland of the animal… yep. So part of the shoot was to capture the bottom of the cantankerous creature. And that is easier said than done ! Anyway we spent a morning photographing captive Devils that were part of the Save the Devil program near Hobart. And, yes, I managed to photograph the Devil’s bottom ! See below…
